Hello, my name is Eve Galloway and I’m the Extended Services co-ordinator for Teesdale School.
I want to help you make the most of your free time here at Teesdale school. Lunch break is quite short, but it’s a good to spend time with your friends, playing pool (20p per game, Friday is for Girls only) or table football, or in the library on computers or having a game of chess or draughts. We’ve also got a Lunchtime Cinema in the snug area of the library on most days. You can even request the films that you would like to watch!
Each term there are lunch time clubs and activities, these vary, depending on what staff are able to offer (such as table tennis, Chinese, reading, films, textiles and the PE department offer various sports such as cricket, netball and basketball). I also bring in outside providers (in the past we’ve had things like Manga comic art, Dance mats, Street dance, soft toy making and ‘Colour me ’ workshops). Pippa Stewart is offering a new Art Club on Tuesday & Thursday lunchtimes in C14.
And after the bell has gone!
I know many of you have to get a bus home after school, but don’t let that stop you taking part in the after school activities on offer. If parents can’t pick you up, let me know and I’ll try to organise a lift or I may be able to drop you home afterwards. There’s a bike club (see Miss Hamilton or Mr Newby),Night Aces and Geo Caching club each Wednesday (Miss Masterman) and if you like singing, there’s ‘No Added Sugar’ each Tuesday in S1 with Jane Ford. The PE department offer various sports clubs during the year.(See Mrs Brennan or Mr Pilling).Science department offer a STEM club(see Mr Hanson) and there’s always the Soul Band which rehearse each Thursday down at The Hub. We’ve run short courses on First Aid, Face painting, Self Defence, Fashion/style, Animation and local Radio which have been really popular. During the coming year we also hope to make use of the fantastic facilities at the neighbouring Hub!
You can make suggestions for activities! I want to hear your ideas.
